this was such a beautiful story and so heartbreaking... I wish they didn't die at the end but I know it needed to happen... Mateo will forever be my sunshine <3

I've honestly never given a book five stars. this book made me sob and honestly, once I get home from school I'm gonna sob again. this book changed by view on death.

I was blown away by this book. At first I struggled a bit with suspension of disbelief  when it came to accepting the premise of  infallible death date prediction. Since everything else about the book’s setting was so true to reality it felt extra implausible to imagine that kind of certainty. But once I stopped trying to argue with the premise, the characters and the journey of their last day was so compelling I couldn’t put it down.

I highly recommend listening to the audiobook. The performances are masterful and really bring the characters to life.

Idk.. the use of the phrase “mad” by Rufus was getting on my nerves “she was mad pretty, he was mad tired, that was mad crazy” but then the same teenager uses the word “midriff” when describing where he wraps his legs on the monkey bars?? 🙄 come on lol… I feel like it was pretty superficial for most of the book until about the last 50 pages when it got a bit more gripping. It’s pretty forgettable overall.

I love a good gay romance but this one felt so forced. I did not feel any romance before the playground. It was still an interesting book but did not like the ending. Rufus’s death was disappointing.

First of all the concept of They Both Die at The End is fascinating. I know that some people are complaining that the title spoiled the ending but isn't that the point?
I enjoyed this book but I didn't really connect to the characters, this might be because I stopped reading this book for 2 days not because it was bad but because of life.
(I stopped reading the book and therefore didn't care about the characters, not the other way around)
On the positive side I think this book just put me out of my reading slump 🎉
I found the whole Delilah situation pretty frustrating. Who cares if your ex-fiancee makes fun of you check if you're really dying like wtf
