I had mixed feelings about this book. At first I was so excited there was a third book after 30 years! But it took me a long time to get into it. This after rereading the first two.
As always the love triangle was my least favorite (as it is in ANY series). I had thought the lucky guy was already chosen but things were still up in the air. I was happy with the final winner though.
I liked that we finally saw some other groups of people and their way of life. Although those ways of life weren't sketched out enough for me.
My favorite part of the book was the glimpse of the actual Change. That was really cool but did it have to be linked with people we knew? A little overkill.
The ending... hmmm how do I review that without giving anything away... I don't think I can. All I can say is that I kind of liked it but not that much. Except of course the love triangle winner.
Oh and the elephants! At first I thought the idea was ridiculous and I had a hard time wrapping my head around it. Then I reminded myself I read a series with telepathic horses and have no problem with that. So I let it go and went with it.
