4 STARS! This gave heavy thriller vibes based off of the blurb but my expectations were diverted and I’m so glad they were because this was a great read!

A completely ridiculous, hilarious, family drama. I heard of this book from a Gilmore Girl character list recommendation and this was compared to Ms. Patty and Babette, which I found pretty accurate for the meddling and problem solving methods. I laughed out loud at various points in the chaos and loved the aunties. Very cute story and now I’m ready for #2. Highly recommend listening to this one!

I don't regret reading this, but I also didn't enjoy it as much as this author's other work, Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers.
I felt strangely tense most of the book, given that this is supposed to be more funny than it is about a crime. Their collective, ridiculous decision-making was the cause. I never really managed to enjoy it for the melodramatic comedy it is, as I was al ays waiting for the other shoe to drop. I think I'd like this more as a movie, the visuals sounded great.
Wasn't necessarily convinced by the romance: what does he see in her? Having spent all of the book in her brain, I wasn't sure. She was in crisis-management mode the whole time. And he has little personality outside of loving her and being handsome.
