Dial A for Aunties is now in my top 2 favorite books and it’s not number 2.
I had so much fun with this book! It was HILARIOUS. And not like when you type “lol” but you really just cracked a smile funny, no like I was really laughing out loud the whole time. I saw so many negative and mixed reviews about this one after I was done and I was actually shocked to see that so many people didn’t like it.
A lot of what I read was that it was silly and really unrealistic which it kind of was, but I thought that was what made it fun. I read so many thrillers so this was a nice palette cleanser.
You can’t really box this into one genre. There was some romance, a lot of comedy, and a look into Chinese-Indonesian culture which was interesting to read. Plus there’s a murder which always makes things fun.
5 stars. I will be recommending this to any and everyone who asks (or doesn’t). You’re welcome.

I absolutely loved this book. It was endearing and hilarious and made me wish I had a crop of Aunties on my side, too. I loved this story and the Nathan plot line and all of the misadventures that ensue. I can’t wait to read book 2!!!
