Was a little slow to get into, kind of hated all the characters. But with the red herrings there were alot and quite a few were predictable. A couple of twists which were enjoyable - and once the scene was built the pace quickened which was good.

A riveting read can not put this book down. The Guest List was addictive but The Hunting Party is so addictive you just wondering what is going to happen next

Read this as a part of a book club - probably would not have finished it otherwise. It was such a disappointment after having read her more recent novel: The Guest List. The characters were unlikable so I had no desire to know who died and who murdered them.
Also, this particular book had too many similarities to Ruth Ware’s In a Dark, Dark Wood which placed characters in arguably the same situation and location. (I even found the same description of location and comparison of the feeling that location gave them in both books).
I really wanted to like this book but I was ultimately disappointed. There are better murder mysteries out there.

Neither loved for hated
took awhile to get interested in the story at all. didn't really get good until like 60% in, And at that point I didn't Really care about any of the characters.

So I read The Guest List a while ago and absolutely loved it! I guess I had high hopes when I started The Hunting Party. I really enjoyed it, but it didn’t have that “omg wow” factor for me. It’s set at this beautiful lodge in the middle of nowhere surrounded by snow, and someone gets murdered. I would have liked to read more about the landscape and area, but there was a lot of indoor, party time. Definitely a good thriller, but not my fave from Lucy Foley.
