Experimental non-fiction. Part poem, part memoir, part biography, part channeling experiment. This uncategorizable book speaks of the murder of Emmett Till and the execution of his father Louis Till. Author, John Edgar Wideman's, youthful obsession turns into a lifelong curiosity. He finds parallels between his life and the lives of these two tragic men who both meet with violent and uncomprehensible deaths mired in politics, racism and hate.
