Too weird and full of “literary art” that I just do not care about.

Book was too hard to follow and I spent most of the first half confused.

I honestly don't know what to think of this book. I think I liked it, but I'm going to need to reread it at some point to form a stronger opinion and understanding. One thing I enjoyed was the all-consuming nature and prose of the cult. As someone who's been in a cult, I definitely saw this piece as well done and felt attached to the main character at that point. Otherwise, there are so many theories on what this book was and there's a few that stick out to me as more probable, but I want to figure my own stance out first. So, overall very enjoyable if you love getting sucked into a confusing trance.

such an engrossing universe, but i really wish the ending would have leaned into the hottie more!! it felt so earnest in comparison to the previous chapters

????????????

very atmospheric, but that’s about all i got from this book. reading bunny was like having my brain pulled out of my head and wrung out. maybe i just ~didn’t get it~ but i REALLY did not get it.

overly flowery(?)/metaphorical(?)/confusing(?) (idk what word i wanna use, maybe that’s because Mona Awad stole all of them and put em in her book).

it just seems like the book wants the reader to think “wow! what an intelligent book and how intelligent am i for reading it,” sacrificing comprehensibility for it. i’m not saying books need to spoonfeed their readers because i hate THAT too but i could have done with like 2% more explanation / clarity. reading this book felt like watching a movie with a (veryy lovely) silk scarf over my eyes.
