This initial issue does a fairly good job of setting up the characters and conflict, revealing just enough of Jacey’s backstory to foreshadow where the story is headed next. There are still a lot of unknowns, but for now all of the story’s cryptic dialogue and playfully oblique artwork is effective in enticing the reader to turn the page. There’s an underlying tension and a good amount of suspense built up by the end ready to carry over into the next issue.

Who doesn't love a dark story with incredible art???

I was obsessed with Jacey's character while reading this graphic novel. She's overwhelmed by raw anger and her apathy is so entertaining. Her fear of herself was so clear through the short 29 pages. I loved her character design. Her growth through out the story is incredible.

I did get a bit confused during the rapid timeline jumps but it all pieced together really well. I have so many questions after reading this but I think they'll all be answered in the rest of the series.

Also, side note, this was my first library book in YEARS so that's fun!

This is a great read for any graphic novel fans or anyone who likes a nice, dark story.

Intense at times(with triggers you should look up) but very interesting. The artwork does this interesting radio fizz effect and there are orange speech bars over other speech bubbles when the main character isn't paying attention or is narrating over someone talking to them.

Gonna be honest, I"m not sure how literally I was supposed to take most of this. I felt like I'd missed half the plot and wasn't sure if it was meant to be taken literally or metaphorically. The art is very good though.
