This was my first time being introduced to Kapuściński's work. It was interesting reading this selection of essays so divorced from their original context.
The four essays presented here are almost dreamlike, made more so without having the full political/historical/socioeconomic background of the original collection or the author's history.
The collection gives a tantalising taste at the authors larger body of work, and the prose (or at least its translation) is beautiful and haunting
