I liked it!!

I can see why Bad Dream wanted to play around with the universe in this one; it sets a pretty strong precedent for what the sister book turns into a really strong superhero story- unlike Bad Dream, though, this largely remains a trans allegory with superpowers. The bad guys aren't thinly veiled metaphors as much as they are real people: your principal, your ex-best friend, the parent you can't get along with, the sibling who you can't see eye to eye with. It's realistic, but it's not heightened with a little extra flair. I like this book as is, but unfortunately, I read Bad Dream first 😅 and Bad Dream really refines this world more than this book reaches out to. I really do like Galaxy, and I do recommend it, but reading the two together strengthens what's actually in the book rather than on its own. Read this for Pride Month, a love of alien girl fashion and character design, an excellent trans allegory, a cute high school romance, and a talking dog. For a trans superhero book, read Bad Dream.

We're stronger together etc. etc. Happy June! 🏳‍🌈

4.2 (rounding up) It’s amazing to see trans representation. It was a little on the nose about trans struggles but at the same time a lot of (especially young) readers will find this and feel seen and represented for the first time. I hope to see more stories of this character existing without their identity being under constant attack. Trans people deserve to just be and exist and while I don’t think this story does that, it works to create room and understanding for it in a publishing world that isn’t often inclusive to trans identities.

Galaxy: The Prettiest Star is a cute, fun read. The art is gorgeous and the story is one that really pulled at my heart. I loved every second of this read as I was pulled into a story about a young woman who was put into the wrong body for many reasons, I loved watching Tayler/Taelyr embrace who she is. I also thought, though quick, the character development was nice. I would love to see another volume in this world for these ladies.

I think this might be the most beautiful graphic novel/ comic I’ve ever read!! 5 stars isn’t enough to express how much I love it.

The story is just sooo amazing, i can’t even describe it in words. Just incredibly well written and even better illustrated. The illustrations are incredible, I love this comic sooo much.

And the Message it has is so important and powerful.
