There isn't a book I've read by Carian that I haven't loved to the bone and devastated me as I drowned in my feelings. I like to suffer sometimes with stories but only those that are worth every tear shed.

STORY
Asia, a beautiful name for a beautiful woman. Who all her life has fought against those who have wanted to take her down, but she always stays strong and survives. She has been looking for a man who will make her smile, capture her world and make her very happy; but she hasn't had much luck until one day, the opportunity she was waiting for came along.
Talon is the complete package of rockstar life. Parties every night, willing fans, dangerous substances, and zero responsibilities. He never says no to challenges and the biggest one approaches him with the strength to change his life forever.

CHARACTERS
Asia is a girl who knows what she wants and expects it to be realized in the best way. She is hardworking and fights to fulfill her dreams. Although like any human being, after so many disappointments it is normal that everything becomes very overwhelming. However, I consider her growth to be impressive as we are used to seeing the main characters as perfect but she survived and started to live.
Talon is the man I wish I once knew. He always remained respectful and although he had no filter at first, he matured in an impressive way. He was also always determined and loving. I love the nicknames he called him, the talent he had, and the desire to make everything work the right way. For a long time, he was a balance in the relationship.

OPINION
This is a book that contains difficult topics to deal with but I think the writer did an excellent job addressing them and in a very respectful way. The story captivates you, locks you into her world and transports you to an amazing place. You have an idea of how things will continue but you are never completely sure, nothing is assured.

3-4/5 ⭐️
I’m so confused with how I want to rate this! On one hand, I loved the book until about 45% where it dragged, so I researched spoilers to see if I should read on otherwise I’d dnf, and the spoilers insinuated that they covered much more the story. So I fast forwarded to a place where the most action occurred, which was about the 70% mark. And what happened kinda ripped my heart and soul, but also made me mad as fudge. Bc I loved the beginning and I appreciate the end, it’s bittersweet.

I know had I read the whole thing I’d rate it lower bc the middle of the book is unnecessary, but at the same time I shouldn’t judge a book based on like 75% of its contents.

In saying this, a reckon a solid 3.9/5 ⭐️ is pretty acceptable. Talons recent diagnosis and the complexities of life that follows was described well bc it showed how much conflict and torment he was in, and how angry and frustrating it can be to come to terms with a lifelong disease that affect your way of living.

Basically, bc they had such a strong emotional connection in the beginning and ending, the middle was fluffing around and didn’t hold as much emotional impact as the rest so it in some ways desensitised me to the intensity of the ending. Anyways!! It’s hard to know my exact feelings about this story

Also the ending was resolved too quickly and I think she deserved so much more grovelling from Talon bc as I was reading the break up even IIII felt heartbroken and I’m just reading words on a screen! So it needed greater pay of but ANYWAYS I suppose that comes with her accepting that the diagnosis was rlly hard for him and he acted out of character and whatever

An interesting question...would you marry someone for research purposes?
If you'd been failing in the dating world; blind dates, social media sites, bar hookups, friend setups, etc...and an opportunity arose where a team of professionals choose the the right man or woman for you, would you jump in with both feet? And by jumping in, marry this handpicked stranger sight unseen? Afterall, according to the psychologists, sociologists, and team of love experts this person is THE ONE.
Hmmm, it's an interesting concept.
Well, that's exactly what Talon Valentine and Asia Jensen did.
Both Talon and Asia signed up for this experiment hoping they would me marrying the loves of their lives, but on their wedding day, neither one was quite what the other expected.
Asia was looking for a quiet, soft-spoken, non-drinker, intellectual that she could spend her evenings at home curled up on the couch with.
Talon wanted a leggy, busty, blonde that would look great wrapped around his arm while attending his very loud, very sold-out, rock concerts.
Both of them were thrown for a loop at their outer appearances, but what is it said about judging a book by its cover. First appearances weren't always what they seemed, but both of them had a lot of damage control to do and prejudges to get over before they could even see a future together.
They signed up to at least give the marriage a try for six months. Both of them wondered if they would last six days, but they were nothing if not quitters. They both dug their heels in and soon those six days became a few weeks and soon those few weeks became a few months. What first seemed like a lifetime sentence, didn't seem like enough time at all.
What would each one decide once the six months time came to an end?
Could two strangers fall in love after they were married? Are they more than just an experiment?

I loved the idea of this book. I know arranged marriages aren't new, but in this day and age they aren't exactly common place either. Add in the detail that this arranged marriage is hand selected by experts and that they have to document their interactions similar to a "Big Brother" and this brings it into today's culture. I loved the journey that both characters took throughout the story. It was heartfelt and well written.
