RB doesn’t wear her influences on her sleeve so much as waltz with them here though overriding we seem to have Cocteau’s Orphic Trilogy. Compared to her debut this is cacophonous and perhaps my preference leans to Sidereal though arguably there’s more electricity in the lines here. It’s a perfect collection for anybody interested in learning how to write the poetry of (declared) homage so perhaps I’ll return to it for that
