This book was amazingly wonderful. It showed the Beauty that trans, the weird performative bullshit of 'allies' and was overall a wonderful own-voices story. I recommend that everyone reads this.
Ramble : The authors note at the end to cis and trans people made me cry, telling cis people that that Amanda's experience isn't always the trans experience and had the privilege of knowing she was trans early, passing easily, getting meds legitimately and being able to get bottom surgery and that having any of none of those things didn't make you less trans or less valid. And of course telling trans people they are beautiful and that it does get better.
