Really was Tom's struggle to believe in himself enough to accept that he is gay.
He has hid for years behind careful wording and his friend Amy.
Tom's workplace is an 80's style throw back with lewd behaviour, hard drinking, inappropriate comments all round.
The denouement, which lasts quite a time, falls back on the old house party trope, though this is for a wedding. Gradually all the deceptions come to light - with the comic assistance from Ash.
I did find it a bit boggy in places but it did keep me interested towards the end.

Tom doesn't quite get his man but does get a future date, but Derek's revelation at the end does support the saying ' me thinks he protesteth too much!'I did find it a bit boggy in places but it did keep me interested towards the end.
