Really beautiful! It takes a while to get into (put it down for a year and then picked it up again) but once you do, you get completely sucked into an Italian summer of passion, saddness and emotion. It is very raw, so if you don't like reading about the extremely personal crazy thoughts of a character I wouldn't recommend. But overall I just loved the setting I wish I was in Italy in the 80s.

It is too slow paced for me, I have it a shot and I just can’t get into it. I know it’s supposed to be slow burn but this is too slow

Same vibes a Cather in the Rye but instead of angsty and sad boy it's just horney and sad boy... I do not mean that as a positive.

Masterful writing. Absolute freak of a main character and felt like it took me five years to read (it was four days). Dragged on and then picked up as the emotions took to their rollercoaster, which is a skill. Overall an equally pleasant and unpleasant experience.

PLOT / CHARTER REVIEW
I FEEL FOR ELIO, HES YOUNG AND BLINDED BY LOVE.
HIS SELF-WORTH GETS WRAPPED UP IN OLIVER. HES TOO READY TO FORGIVE OLIVER FOR ABANDONING HIM WITH LITTLE TO NO EXPLANATION. I THINK ELIO SEES HIM ALMOST AS THIS GODLY FIGURE. ELIO NEEDS TO KNOW HES A PERSON WHO HAS HIS OWN IDENTITY WITH OUT OLIVER AND THAT WHILE THE TIMES IN B WITH OLIVER WERE AMAZING, ELIO IS SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT

OLIVER. I DIDNT MIND HIM AT THE START OF THE BOOK BUT TOWARDS THE END SPECIFICALLY THE 4TH PART BECOMES SO AGITATING. HE ACTS LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED WITH HIM AND ELIO. ITS WRONG THAT HE ENGAGED IN SOMETHING WITH SOMEONE 10 YEARS YOUNGER THAN HIM IF YOUR GOING TO GO FOR SOMEONE 10 YEARS YOUNGER THAN YOU, YOU CANT POSSIBLE THINK THAT LEAVING SO ABRUPTLY AND NOT SPEAKING FOR 9 YEAR WONT LEAVE HIM WITH A SCAR. HE WAS ONLY 17 AND YOU CANT THINK THAT THATS OK.

OK SO I HAVE LOTS TO SAY ABOUT THIS BOOK.
PART 1 & 2 WERE THE BEST PARTS/ CHAPTERS OF THE BOOK BECAUSE ELIO WASNT LOOSING SITE OF HIS WORTH.

PART 3 FELT LIKE IT DRAGED ON FOR TOO LONG AND ONLY REALLY GAVE PLOT VALUE IN THE LAST 10 PAGES

PART 4 WAS RUSHED, IT SKIPS LIKE 9 YEARS AND ELIO STILL IS WILLING TO RUN BACK TO HIM.
