I...don't know how I feel. It started off really captivating. Okay, it stayed captivating, but it lost me. I don't particularly understand the ending or how we necessarily even got there. I know this was supposed to be about a widower working through his grief, but it also felt like a weird critique on the ability to escape generational trauma? What I mean is, it seems Thiago has broken the pattern, but in the end, he just added another gnarled branch to his family tree.
I don't know. It wasn't bad, the writing was excellent, but I am just very confused.
