The second book in this series follows Dick and his friends as they become high school sophomores and try out for the school baseball team. They play some pranks on their new principal, who is a sorry excuse for authority, and try their best to evade the bully, Fred Ripley, who tormented them in the first book, as well. It's not a bad series; although the focus is on sports, the entire book is not so taken up with it that it makes it boring to someone who is not an enthusiast. It is more geared for boys, though, just because; the two girl friends that Dick and his friends spend time with only appear every so often to share scenes with them.
