This is my second time reading this book, I think, might be more lol
I still loved it as much as I remember and they didn’t change a lot between the books and the movies so that’s nice to see.
I find that I like Peeta a lot more in the books then I do in the movies. Until it gets to mockingjay then I just want Katniss to be alone forever lol

Just reread this in anticipation of the movie coming out. Was better the second time, as most good books are. I just didn't remember how suspenseful and exciting this one was, I couldn't put it down and I already knew what was going to happen! Now do I reread Mockingjay or wait for that movie...? Lol.

I love this series so much. Words simply cannot describe. This book is even better than the first. I cannot put into words how important Katniss as a character has been for me. She embodies so much strength, and her flaws are so real and so relatable. I want her to be happy more than anything. She is my favorite fictional character EVER! Her pain is so palpable it’s just horrible. This series has fundamentally changed who I am as a person. Her and Peeta’s love is so pure, and anyone who says she does not love him is lost. She loves him so palpably it hurts. I’d argue this is one of the best love stories ever created. It’s not often that damaged women get to have a love story like this, where the man is so fully just good. I just love it, and I disagree with Haymitch. Katniss deserves Peeta. They should be happy together forever. I’d also argue it’s one of the most disturbing series ever made, especially in the YA genre. It’s surprisingly dark, something I don’t think I picked up on when I was younger. Anyway, I love all the characters. I love Finnick. I love Peeta. I love Johanna. I love Beetee. I love Wiress. I love Haymitch. I love Cinna. I love Effie. And most importantly, I love Katniss. Name a better dystopian protagonist. I’ll wait.
