This short story follows a young girl in a prestigious school in Zimbabwe as the government makes the decision that more of these schools will increase enrollment of Black pupils. It uses the lens of an English and elocution lesson to explore themes of class, race, privilege, colonialism and more. Really well written and layering of complex themes.

Really fast read. Everyone wants to embrace Western ways. Because they are seen to be cultured. English is given more preference than mother tongue. I guess I'm also like that following after a Western idle.
