I got to about page 200 and then I had to drop it. I was practically falling asleep, the constant time skipping back and forth got highly confusing and annoying, the MC was terrible, I am religious myself but the stuff happening in this one just seemed way too much and I could imagine that people will run away from religion, the masturbation scene was a big fat NOPE, the child abuse and the bullying no thank you, and I could go on. The art was nice though, and that is what kept me going. Other than that.. no thank you.

Maybe it's because it's set in the exact same time period as my adolescence, but I can barely talk about this book without crying. Seriously, it's so good.

Interested to see where it is going as it started a bit slow and is just really a spice of life story with coming of age genre. I liked they way they told the past in present with relating the thoughts Phil had as a child to the present where he was a senior in high school. I like the way they explained Phil's discovery of whether he has is on faith in religion or not.

I’m not really sure how to rate this. I didn’t personally enjoy this. I couldn’t connect to Craig as a character or the religious story but I can see why a lot of people would connect to it and it would help them out a lot. The story is well-written and engaging. I personally didn’t like the artwork either. I like my graphic novels to have lots of colours and be highly saturated not black and white and simplistic.
