I am sitting here wrecked as I write this review because not only did I journal as I read through this collection, I followed every single prompt/action item, except for the hosting a dinner for friends. I simply texted, wrote or DMed them instead. The prompts in between every few poems were nothing extraordinarily novel or innovative, but paired with what you just read, it evoked such visceral reactions out of me. I had to stop reading and wipe my tears so many times. The authentic tenderness, gentleness, and hope that Kai Cheng Thom writes with reaches out beyond the pages and pulls you in, forcing you to confront your feelings head-on.
This collection of poetry will stay with me forever, and I will try my best to live up to the tenets and values that KCT comments on in these poems. I continue to be so moved and impressed by KCT & she is an absolute gift to the world. I hope we can act in solidarity and compassion for each other and ourselves, because we deserve the world that Kai Cheng Thom believes in.

- FALLING BACK IN LOVE WITH BEING HUMAN is a small gem of a book. It's a series of letters and poems to fellow humans interspersed with prompts for reflecting on these subjects and caring for yourself.
- Thom writes to everyone from fellow trans women to TERFs. Each piece is meditative and filled with love for the humans under the masks. Even when the rage boils through, there is still love at the center of this book.
