the epilogue confused me a lil and it wasn’t as emotional as i would have liked BUT it is beautifully written and the world building was DELISH, especially for a first in a series

I can’t wait to read the second book!!! This book is thick but so engaging! The pacing was slow but, in my opinion, it felt right for the story to take its time. The author did an excellent job weaving in the world’s history, politics and affliction. I was eager to learn more! The relationships were deep and complicated. At one point it felt like a drama, which I love! I was engrossed in this remarkable, brutal world and need to know what happens next!
