This was truly a feel good romance. Not much a plot and fast moving but it was so heart warming and fun. I was so invested in the characters and read this all in one sitting

I think this book is worth the read honestly.
I thought this story was extremely well thought out. Not only was it a office romance between “enemies” but it also had a mystery aspect to it. Neither one held a back seat to the other, both were front and Center and I loved every minute of it.

This sweet romantic comedy with a twist of a mystery too was one of those books I could not put down. LH Cosway alway writes fantastic characters who clash and enhance each other. The battle for a relationship between these two was unexpected and so fun to watch develop. Grant was gruff, elusive, combative, a loner, and her superior. Maisy was the "happy go lucky girl" always chipper, giving, open and forgiving. But we all know those first looks are only the surface. When they are brought together one drunken office Christmas party night, the outer shell starts to crack and the fun begins.

Maisy works hard, tries hard to make everyone smile, and she's treated like a doormat by a few of her colleagues. She is a researcher for a PI firm, and does an excellent job. She's offered a promotion and a chance to train under Grant (waggle eyebrows) she takes it and together they undercover many mysteries layered while getting to know each other.

This was such a fun read, romance, strife, mystery and comedy, all under these covers. Omg this would be the best movie !
I received a copy from the author for a honest review

Happy-Go-Lucky was so freakin adorable I loved it. I've been in a bit of a reading slump, couldn't really find anything that I wanted to read, that sounded good, that could hold my interest. Then I saw LH Cosway had a new story out so I thought why not give it a go. And it officially got me out of my slump. Because Cameron and Maisie are so cute together I couldn't stop reading.

Maisie and Cameron have been working together for a while, but they don't really know each other. Cameron is the office grump. The guy no one really knows. The one who doesn't go to the office parties or participate in the fun activities or really even talks to anyone.

Maisie is a huge people pleaser. She hates the idea of anyone not liking her so she goes out of her way to do everything she can to get everyone to like her. She brings donuts to the office every week, does anything anyone asks her to including extra work her coworkers dump on her, she does it all. Because she wants to be liked so she can't say no. Only...she is pretty invisible. No one really talks with her except her friend. No one listens when she tries to contribute to conversations. Her coworkers are definitely not worth the effort she puts in as they use her friendliness against her. She is a bit of a pushover, but she doesn't know how to be any other way.

When Cameron shows up for the office Christmas party it is odd. He has never come to one before. When Maisie sees him sitting all alone she has to go say hi. I mean maybe he is making an effort and no one else will talk to him? Gah they were so cute together! I do have a weakness for grumbly guys who are super sweet underneath all that. And Cameron is the best. His bark is worse than his bite and once you see through it, he is so sweet.

I loved how this was an office romance, but one where they can't really be together yet because of the power dynamics and they really try and stick to that. You see these two who obvious like each other so so much, but they agreed to not act on it right away (after that first drunken night) and I loved the tension there. I know Cameron could be really gruff, but his reasons why...phew! And Maisie was so sweet and they are perfect for each other. They help the other be better people. Happier people. Oh, they were adorable. Plus we have the fun PI stuff where they are trying to figure out a few things and what different people are up to. I loved that and how Maisie might doubt herself, but is learning to trust her instincts. It was a super fun, super cute read.

After reading a very realistic, therefore anxiety-causing book, I thought I'd try another romance novel, lighten my mood. I discovered L.H.Cosway a few years back. I enjoyed a couple of her books. That was three, four novels ago, so I'm beginning to think "I'm getting too oldcynical for romance novels".
I don't know what's with the romance novels and the first-person narration, but they just drive me crazy. It doesn't happen with other types of novels.
The trope of the good looking, grumpy, mysterious guy is getting on my nerves as well.
So, I quit at 35%.

This was my first LH Cosway story and I loved it! It was so fun and well written, and it featured several of my favourite tropes: opposites attract, office romance, roadtrip and more.

Maisie is a ‘happy-go-lucky’ kind of person. She enjoys helping people, being on friendly terms with everyone and is just a general ray of sunshine. She works as a research in a private investigation office with Cameron, one of the investigators. Cameron is the opposite of Maisie. He’s grouchy, unsocial and believes smiling should be saved for rare occasions. They don’t have too many interactions, save the occasional assistance Maisie provides Cameron with her research, so when she sees Cameron sitting sullen and alone at the office Christmas party, she puts on her big girl pants, attempts to avoid being intimidated by his stature and goes to sit beside him. As the night wears on and the drinks keep flowing, Maisie realises that the very attractive Cameron isn’t so bad after all and they end up back at his place to continue the fun.

What I really loved about Happy-Go-Lucky was that it had the same whimsical vibes I loved in The Hating Game (happy, helpful heroine with grumpy, hot hero who opens up to said heroine) but was still completely different. Both contain office romances with a roadtrip out of town, and it could be argued that many elements in the enemies to lovers trope and opposites attract trope are similar; but the actual story lines show appreciation to the similar vibes while providing the reader with completely different experiences. You couldn’t help but love Maisie’s caring nature and feel for her when certain colleagues were beyond rude and unprofessional towards her; and Cameron was perfect in his ability to be grouchy and intimidating yet show his softer side with Maisie. I even loved several of the friends and family side characters. They added to the main characters but had their own complexities that left me wanting additional stories for them all.

But if you’re thinking this is just another contemporary-based office romance, don’t worry! Both characters work in the PI industry and this fact is not a mere mention. Cosway provides several intriguing cases that Maisie and Cameron work together to solve and I loved how everything tied up together. During the story, Maisie also earns a promotion from research to investigator and I loved the light emphasis Cosway includes on how you can’t just expect things to fall into your lap, you need to put in the effort and work hard for what you want.

Overall, this was such a great read and a fantastic introduction to Cosway’s writing. I can’t wait to read more from her and look forward to seeing what else she releases in future!

I enjoyed Happy Go Lucky. It kind of felt like two books melded into one. The blurb describes the first part, an office romance where opposites attract. Then a cozy mystery follows. I was thrown by the last part at first, but ended up really digging it. Who doesn’t like a strong, silent, sexy, brooding hero and a smart, quirky, easily overlooked heroine?

I voluntarily read an early copy.
