The Adventure of the First Star is a Sherlock Holmes short story by Craig Janacek. The style was convincingly like Doyle's and Holmes and Watson were faithful portrayed. The mystery itself has obvious comparisons to Doyle's "The Adventure of the Six Napoleons." The story definitely held my interest and I read it straight through. The Kindle book is padded with an interesting list of the Doyle stories placed in chronological order of when they occur (not when they were written). Janacek has taken the liberty of inserting his own Holmes stories in that timeline. Not a bad list to have if you want to re-read the Doyle canon and see the development of Holmes and Watson's partnership over time.
