This is such a fun, entertaining read. Lincoln and Violet are interesting, charismatic, entertaining, intriguing, relatable, complex characters. I enjoyed them as individuals and a couple. Their romance has its twists and turns which is fun to read. The secondary characters – especially the children – added to the fabric of the story and my enjoyment. This book had me laughing out loud, smiling, swooning, cheering and just having an overall good time. The story is easy to read and get into.

I enjoyed the audio version of this book and the narrator.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the e-audiobook ARC of this book. All opinions on this are my own.

If you're looking for a friends-to-enemies-to-lovers paranormal romance, then Not the Witch You Wed by April Asher is the perfect book for you! Beautifully narrated by Zura Johnson who helpfully adds a gruffness to her voice when voicing the male love interest - Lincoln, and beautifully narrates the female main character - Violet, the book flows smoothly.

While I found some moments eyeroll worthy, something that is not necessarily uncommon for me in romance, overall the book seemed like a good fit for anyone who loves paranormal romance. There is magic at play, fake dating, and an endearing nature between the two characters that cannot be denied. If you like surprises though in romance stories, this book is not going to do it for you. While predictable, it's what you kind of wanted for the characters all along anyway. It was ultimately a very fun read.

Tense and POV: This book was in past tense, third person.

I was listening to this audiobook and I don’t know if it’s just the bland tone of the narrator but even at a third into the book I had no connection to any of the characters, I wasn’t feeling the stake of the problem that had been presented to drive the plot, and overall didn’t feel the want to continue the story. I think a narrator with more enthusiasm would have made a huge difference.

A fun, cozy, easy witchy read. Nothing super special or surprising about it, but I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone looking for something fun, quick and easy.
