Wow talk about trust issues. There serious ones in this story. Betrayal can have a lasting effect on you and this is about recovering from that to find a lasting relationship. I enjoyed the whole Sex in the City meets Wedding Planner aspect. I wasn't ever big on Sex in the City but I watch the reruns sometimes. LOVED the Wedding Planner though!!! ;)

To Have and To Hold was such a fun, cute read. I loved Brooke and Seth and everything in this story.

Brooke is new to New York. She just moved from LA to get away from the disaster that was her life. Her fiance was arrested by the feds on the alter. He is a conman and she almost married him. If only the arrest had happened a little sooner maybe she could have salvaged her wedding planning business, but afterwards no one wanted to be associated with her. She was dealing with heartbreak plus the loss of her business and it was not good. When she gets the opportunity to work for The Wedding Belles she jumps at the chance. They are the cream of the crop, the best of the best.

Seth is the sister of Maya, a hotel heiress who is getting married. He is not at all happy that she springs this on him especially since he doesn't even know the guy she is marrying. Seth is a planner. He is organized and has to have everything in its place, and Maya's sudden marriage doesn't fit. It is a surprise and he doesn't like it. His gut says he shouldn't trust this guy, that he is just after her money, so he plans to be there every step of the way to try and figure out this guy. What he is really after and to save Maya from herself.

When Seth and Brooke first meet they are both instantly attracted to the other. But then Seth opens his mouth and he can come across as quite rude. He is not happy and everyone knows it. But still there is something there. Sure, Brooke could never act on the attraction, he is the one paying her, but she can't quite ignore it either. These two were so much fun! And super hot! I loved Seth and how he tried to keep everyone safe. Sure, he doesn't always do it the right way, he messes up, but it is only because he cares so much. And Brooke is so conflicted. She hasn't really dealt with the fact that her fiance was a criminal and is going to trial soon. She was one who always pushed aside the bad things and only focused on the good. Well you can only do that for so long. Thankfully Seth is always there for her. They have their ups and downs, especially at first, but they were amazing. I loved this story and can't wait to read more.

2.5 stars - this book was cute and I enjoyed all of the characters enough. Apparently I really enjoy romance novels about independent women and rich bachelors in Manhattan. Shocking, no? I think a lot of people would enjoy that set up! haha. This book felt like a pretty quick and fun summer read and I appreciated it for what that was worth.

Review: A great start to an awesome new series by Lauren Layne!!I've been waiting for To Have And To Hold ever since I read the prequel novella in the Wedding Belles series-From This Day Forward and I'm happy that I got to read this book early.I enjoyed it immensely and as always LL never disappoints!

Brooke Burke, a wedding planner, has just moved to NYC from LA for a fresh start and is going to start working for The Wedding Belles, the premier wedding planning company in New York. She had discovered that her fiance was a conman, moments before their wedding, when the police came to arrest him.Not only was she humiliated and heartbroken because of it, she also lost all her clients. She doesn't believe in love anymore.

Seth Tyler loves his sister a lot, but he doesn't have faith in her current choice of husband. He has had to manage his company and become CEO prematurely, as his father died quite suddenly and without ever telling him that he was ill.He showers Maya with a lot of love and gives her whatever she wants, but is also a hardass. He believes that Maya seeks attention in the form of adoration from her partners and friends, and in turn they take advantage of her.So, he is afraid that her current fiance is also doing the same and that he is just marrying her for the money.

Maya is Brooke's first client. She needs to pull off this wedding to establish herself. But, fate throws a wrench in the plan in the form of Seth Tyler. Not only is she attracted to the bride's brother, but he asks her to steer Maya away from the wedding, which she isn't ready to do.She is equal parts attracted to him and annoyed.Seth is quite rude to her in the beginning. He is also attracted to Brooke(who he calls "Malibu Barbie") and tries to buy her off. When his tactics don't work, he is intrigued by her and is determined to chase her.So will Brooke pull off Maya's wedding or will it end in a disaster? And what about Seth and Brooke?

This book had the trademark LL feel to it, with a perfect combination of romance, humor, steam and emotions. All relationships from Seth and Maya's bond to Brooke and her parents were thoroughly explored.Seth had a kind of Mr.Darcy feel to him which I loved!Brooke was also a confident and ambitious character.Looking at her, people assume that she is a dumb, blonde bombshell.Only those who look beneath see her intelligence and caring nature. She has put up walls around her heart and isn't ready to trust a guy again.Seth usually indulges in casual relationships, but Brooke makes him long for something more.

Maya also adds to the fun, by trying to match them both.Heather and Alexis, the other planners in the Wedding Belles are also amazing characters.I just wish we could have seen more of them especially Alexis!!

So, guys even if you are an LL fan or not, Buy this book when it comes out on July 26th as it was a really beautiful story!!And if you haven't read any of Lauren Layne's books yet, what are you waiting for?! I recommend you start with After The Kiss :)

P.S. Can't wait for Heather's and Alexis' stories in the upcoming books!! :D

I read The Wedding Belles series completely out of order but came into this book actually excited to read it, and ended up mainly continuing to find out how Maya and Grant get together. Overall fine but wouldn't reread.

Quick run-down of the book – Brooke is a very good wedding planner, whose own wedding that she planned herself blew up when her fiancé was arrested on their wedding day, thus standing her up leaving her embarrassed as she was oblivious to her fiancé’s crimes and turning her wedding planning business in shambles. She picks up and moves to New York where she gets hired as the newest wedding planner at the high-end wedding planning company The Wedding Belles. Her first job is to plan the wedding of Maya, a hotel heiress, whose brother Seth is CEO of. Seth who is quite bullheaded, insists on tagging along every step of the way as he believes Maya’s fiancé is a con artist marrying her for money. This of course causes him to butt heads with Brooke, sexual tension ensues and find themselves not hating each other as much as they thought they did.

Lauren Layne is one of my favorite rom-com writers. I love almost all of her books and re-read some of them yearly, even. This is the first book in a series following the women who work at The Wedding Belles company and their adventures in finding their happily ever after. This was a very good story and first installment to this series. I really liked both main characters, the comedy in the story made me laugh, the sad parts made me sad and I loved the end of the book.

I’m giving it 4.25 stars. The pacing could be a little slow at times, but is otherwise a really good book and story. I recommend for fans of rom-coms. This is my favorite book in The Wedding Belles series.
