I think the best thing about this book was the characters. I really cared what happened to them and how they interacted. I did think that figuring out who the murderer was was a little easy, but, once again, the characters were awesome so that more than made up for it. Reading this made me want to go to Boston and hang out at Jim's Place!

I enjoy this author's books, but for some reason it took me quite some time to get into the story. It was a little slow moving in the beginning, but I enjoyed it very much as the story got moving. Some of the characters from this appear in her next book, The Cabin. I did not realize this until I started reading The Cabin some years later.

It was difficult to put this book down! Murder in the past and a mysterious disappearance in the present are linked ... somehow. Is it the carriage house or the family who owned the estate? Tess finds herself with more than she bargained for when she went to see the property Ike gave her.

3 seems too low. I would prefer a 3.5 option. Not my favorite by the author, because it was lighter on the romance. I think coming off a really unique and different style series didn't help. But it was still a good read and definitely worth reading. I liked the characters and would like to have them show up again in the next book.

Just OK. I picked this up because of the setting. A little heavier on the romance than I usually read and not that intriguing of a mystery. Not sure I'll read anymore of the series.
