This is easily my favorite issue of FF so far. As shown on the front page, readers are introduced to the infamous Doctor Doom. While the FF do not have a great record with defeating their enemies (they couldn't stop Submariner in the previous issue), Dr. Doom just illustrates a certain type of genius that we haven't yet seen with other villains. He successfully plays on the arrogance of the FF to get away from their attempts to catch him and the reader can definitely see how Dr. Doom will become the ultimate nemesis in future Marvel comics. One thing that I definitely enjoyed about this issue was the shameless promotion of The Incredible Hulk which Johnny is reading in the very beginning. It was a smart move and a sure fire way to guarantee an increase in sales of a new solo character. I still don't enjoy the Thing as a member of the FF. He's so combative with everyone that he's almost counterproductive to their missions, but I also understand that he's had the most drastic change out of all the FF so I would be bitter as well.
