My niece used to love Fancy Nancy. She wanted to be called princess when she was 3 she loved all that so much. Now, she has grown and she thinks Fancy Nancy is for young kids. We did read this together and she appreciated Nancy’s outfit, but it didn’t please her the way it used to. She gave this 3 stars.

I do like the use of vocabulary words in this series. I think it is brilliant that she is always saying, that’s a fancy way of saying… My niece does have a wonderful vocabulary. I don’t think Fancy Nancy had much to do with that. Everyone in our family uses lots of words around the kids. I love to use some big unusual words around them and they are always asking what that means. My cuss word around them is “well, Balderdash”. I think words are important and it’s good to have a wide vocabulary and you get that by hearing words. Plus we sing a lot of musical theatre and they use some good words in Broadway. Anyway.

Fancy Nancy goes Trick-or-treating and she eats to much candy and gets sick and learns a lesson - maybe. It is a fun story and anyone who likes fancy will enjoy these stories.
