Very interesting retelling of Mr. March’s story. The past and present nature of the storytelling was sometimes difficult to keep up with, especially in audio. There was too much palavering towards the end of the book. It could’ve been an hour shorter.

picked it back up and am so glad I did. I couldn’t put it down towards the end. I loved Marmee’s perspective too.

It took a while to get into this book, perhaps I didn't really warm to Mr March. It's a long time since I read Little Women and maybe I need to revisit it to refresh my memories of the March family. I always pictured Marmee as a very gentle woman but she has very different overtones in this book.
