One of the things that drew me to Confessions was its unique storyline. The premise sounded really promising and I also loved that the story would be told from all three sisters' respective viewpoints. After finishing the novel, I'm delighted to say that I was not disappointed.
The story starts off with a prologue that's very cold and distant. This and
the epilogue being the only two times the novel is in third person. While at first I was a little put off by this, I can see that Standiford possibly did this to let us see the Sullivan family from the outside. You're able to feel the air of superiority that the family gives off. Once you delve into the story, luckily, things warm up quite a bit. Though the synopsis has the mysterious feel- as does the novel at moments- the Sullivan family is quite quirky and eccentric, which was a pleasant surprise. Each sister is wonderfully unique: Norrie, who has always been counted on to do the right things; Jane, who's always been counted on to do the wrong things; and Sassy who has a beautiful heart. What I enjoyed even more so was the fact that each sister held a characteristic of the woman they despised the most- Almighty. This really helped to humanize her for me. Standiford also did and excellent job of giving each sister their moment to shine, be it through their own narration of through their sister's. That said, their stories tied together beautifully. The missing pieces that one sister couldn't fulfill, another did. This led to a wonderfully tied together story altogether.

After reading the juicy-gossipy little stories the girls (Norrie, Sassy and Jane) shared as confessions to Almighty, I was astounded that such little mischief was the cause of all that ruckus yet I find the book interesting and amazing! A must-read. It preaches about Love, Family, Forgiveness, Humility and so much more. If you are fond of keeping it real and a true thriller, I suggest this book.
Quite entertaining, the ending was very satisfying.
An easy read and a nice viewpoint into the lives of the rich and apparently shallow. Standiford writes with ease and compelling voices as she tells the tales of the Sullivan Sisters.

I really enjoyed this book. It was another of my summer library reads. The premise was interesting, but I think what really kept me reading was the unique voice of each sister, and, of course, their secrets. The three Sullivan sisters were not hiding horrible secrets about lives of crime or some such nonsense. They had different secrets - about love, arrogance, supposed invincibility - none of which were supremely shocking. They were, however, enticing. I could relate to them because they read like teenage girls. Their voices were real, and their stories were pretty relatable. Their family was kind of nutty, but most families are.
In the end, this book was very good. 4 stars, for an enticing, relatable, thrilling read.

First off, my opinion of the cover. I really like the cover, and how each girl has a different type of dress and a different colored envelope. I just really like how you can kind of get a feeling of what the book is about just by looking at the cover of the book. So I really like the cover, because it also goes along with the what the book is about.
I gave this book a three out of five, because I enjoy reading this book every time I've read it. This is my third time reading it, actually.
Norrie's confession is my favorite out of all three of their confessions because it is what I like to read in books. Sassy's story is my least favorite because she is a fifteen year old girl believing that she is invincible. When I was fifteen, which was only a year ago, I didn't believe the world was invincible. I mean, if she were ten, then I could see it, but fifteen is just too old to believe that sort of thing.
I like Jane because she is just being a rebellious teenager in a way that she can be. She gets to let her emotions out and tell her version of the truth all on a blog, and that's a great way to get anger out which is why I like her.
The reason I didn't give it a four out of five stars is because of what made Almighty cut the family out of her will in the first place. I just hate that that was her reason. Out of all the confessions, Jane should have been the one who offended her the most; Norrie in close second for her disappearing act.
Overall, I would recommend it as a summer reading book, because how fast you can read it, because it's a very easy, good for reading on the beach, kind of book. I would've finished it faster if I didn't have finals to study for, but oh well. It is a good book to read, and I will probably read it agian.

This is Natalie Standiford's second novel. I have never read her first, but it has received amazing reviews. After reading the summary of this novel, I couldn't wait to start reading it!
The Sullivan family is intense. All of the Sullivan's have some sort of "issue" and it makes the story. I came to love each and every family member of the family. You'll start this book and have many questions and by the end you will be left wanting more.
There are three stories from different points of view and each of them are great. I loved the first one, than found I loved the next one, and even the last one. All three are different, so you won't get bored. They intertwine too and will give you a different view on some things.
I found this book to be interesting and it definitely kept my attention. If you're looking for an easy read, but still want something that will make you think pick up this book!
Overall I fell in love with this story and the Sullivan family. I highly recommend this book to all.

I liked the three different stories/confessions told by the three Sullivan sisters. I liked how the story was paced up until the very end. Was Standiford in a hurry to finish the story because I thought it finished a little too quickly, and left the reader hanging. Other than that I liked it.
