Das Buch verfolgt die Geschichte einer kleinen Maus. Sie hat sich in der Zeit vertan und das große Käsefest um einen Tag verpasst. Die arme Maus hatte sich so drauf gefreut und seit Wochen darauf hingefiebert. Gibt es denn wirklich keine Möglichkeit doch noch zum Käsefest zu gelangen?
Das Missgeschick der kleinen Maus löst in ihr den Wunsch aus mehr über Zeit zu lernen. Was ist Zeit, und ist es möglich zurück in die Zeit zu reisen?
Und so beginnt ein großes Abenteuer.

Diese Geschichte hat mir wirklich super gefallen. Auch wenn sie für Kinder geschrieben ist, kann jeder, unabhängig, vom Alter daran Spaß haben. Die kleine Maus ist einfach zuckersüß und die Zeichnungen, die durch das ganze Buch verteilt sind, sind wunderschön. Der Schreibstil ist sehr angenehm.
Ich hätte mir an manchen Stellen gewünscht, dass doch etwas tiefer in das Thema eingegangen wäre, sodass die Informationen, die im Nachsatz geteilt wurden, schon mehr in der Geschichte selber verwoben und (auf kindgerechter Art) erklärt worden wären.
Ansonsten: wirklich top. Definitiv eine Empfehlung

Absolutely stunning illustrations throughout this children's story of a time travelling mouse just trying to make it to the cheese festival.

This book is precious. The combination of text and images used to tell the story works beautifully. It's easy to fall in love with the artwork, but it is not only decorative, it moves the plot along significantly and speeds up the storytelling process to make the book easier to complete for young readers. The mouse's adventure is exciting and filled with just the right amount of science. The translation from German is well done and the text is easy to read. The book is a fun introduction to Albert Einstein and General Relativity with a tongue in cheek question of 'what if it really was a time traveling mouse?'. Adults will appreciate the time travel aspects (which I don't want to spoil here). For curious minds there is a bonus section in the back of the book introducing Einstein's life and his theories.

Highly recommended for bright 6-year-olds and up.

This is such an adorable book and one that would be perfect for those children who are interested in science. There are a few big words (filigree/electromagnetism) but not more than 4 or 5. These words would be a way to keep exploring the topic for them. The story starts with a question a lot of children might have asked and is explored in a way a child might "What is time?" and "Can we go back in time by turning a real clock back?" The approach works perfect for young readers who are inquisitive because it talks about the science in a simple way but also in a way that allows them to think and ask more questions.

The artwork throughout the story was amazing. I really appreciated that rather than try to use words to explain some steps in the little building of the mouse's time machine, they used pictures.

this entire series is just utterly adorable and with a read simply to smile while reading it. 

it’s always a bit of an adventure and always a smart little mouse that discovers and builds someone impossible to make something possible and/or learn something.

and all the while sharing some information about the real scientists that actually existed. 

i love this series and would highly recommend the books.

"Darf ich Sie vielleicht doch noch einmal fragen, was genau die Zeit ist? Ich bin nämlich einen Tag zu spät dran und suche nun einen Weg, die Zeit zurückzudrehen."
Auch hier kann ich wieder nur ehrfürchtig die Illustrationen von Torben Kuhlmann betrachten. Sie sind einfach zu schön, um das Buch durchzublättern. Auch der Text, mit einer wunderbaren Grundidee stammt von Torben Kuhlmann.
Gegenüber dem Buch Lindberg, dem ersten Teil der Mäuseabenteuer-Reihe, haben wir eine komplexere Geschichte mit einer Zeitreisethematik, die mir sehr gut gefallen hat. Die Maus hat leider ein Käsefest in der Schweiz verpasst, will sich damit aber nicht zufrieden geben. Daher stellt sie sich die Frage: "Lässt sich die Zeit anhalten oder sogar zurückdrehen?" Um die Beantwortung geht es in diesem Buch.
Auch der Schweizer Dialekt der heimischen Mäuse wird stellenweise sehr amüsant eingebaut. Im Anhang werden die Gesetzmäßigkeiten der Relativitätstheorie anhand von sehr anschaulichen Beispielen leicht nachvollziehbar erklärt.
