This is a cute little mystery, taking place a long way from this reader in the USA - and it was fun learning the different reference to local places, the different words used and descriptions of events. This book was just a fun read with great characters. I love cozy mysteries because I love books, and a mystery that revolves around a book store and a mystery - sign me up!!!! This was a different cozy than I've ever read before as I've never read a book where music is the paranormal talent! But that is what makes this book so interesting. I'm so looking forward to the next book in this series. I received an ARC copy of this book in return for my honest opinion.

This is the story of Esther who works at a bookstore and is a musician. Her boss is murdered and she’s trying to find out whodunit. I read this around Halloween expecting it to be spooky and the paranormal elements definitely felt a little spooky but there were Christmas undertones that makes it a perfect read in fall.

At 65% I’m finding it difficult to keep going. There seems to be several stories going on here. Something possibly paranormal is going on with Esther. There’s also a kinda romantic interest. There’s also an investigation. There’s also stories about all these different people they’re investigating. There just seems to be a lot going on. You’ll get one little nugget of one story and it will jump into another part of the equation.

I’ll update the review once I finish. Maybe it will all come together in the end?

Well. I just finished. The romantic interest part fell short for me. But the paranormal and investigation part of the story was interesting and all came together in the end. I’m not sure I’ll read the next in the series. But I read this as a standalone story. This is my honest review of Murder for a Song by KM Jackways. Thank you Book Sirens for the ARC.
