I can't believe all of that happened in a day!

I liked the way magic is explored: it was creative and fun. The witch mothers and covens are terrible, though.

As a mc, I'm sure Sophie is not for everyone. She doesn't start out a fierce girl, she still craves the love and acceptance of those who treat her badly and her thoughts easily spiral into self-deprecating ones, into negative memories and self doubt.

The thing is, if she easily overcame years of being told she's useless, a disappointment, and conditioning to be mediocre, it wouldn't be honest. Sophie has an inner battle to fight, and even with all the progress she's achieved by the end of the book, her work isn't finished.

This book carries an important message of how the labels, the words, people use on us influence how we see and think of ourselves, until we become exactly what we have been told we are, unable to see beyond it towards our potential.

Kudos for non sexualization or fetishising of growing polyamorous relationship
