Deserves all the praise and accolades. Oh my god, just stunning. I sincerely hope the dream of 3 series becomes a reality. What DeConnick and team have created here is the definitive Amazon story. 5 stars, 10 stars, 100 stars!!

Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons Book 3 is an excellent conclusion to a stunning series. All three books carry a story about women empowerment and freedom, and they bring to light the realities of many women throughout history and the injustices they faced. Book 3 is powerful and poetic as it offers an honest and sorrowful ending.

In Book 1, the goddesses of Olympus created the Amazons to fight for and protect the women of Earth. And even though Zeus forbade them from interfering, they did it anyway. Book 3 is essentially a big middle finger to Zeus and it is incredible to witness.

Something that stood out to me is how clever and calculated Hera is. With her thousand thousand eyes, she is constantly aware of all of the injustices against women and she knows how this will end, and yet she never gives up hope. She knows what she must do to help the Amazons, even if her actions seem cruel at first. Ultimately, Hera’s motive is to fight for and protect women, too.

Hippolyta and the other Amazon Queens give their all as they fight for their lives and freedom in Book 3, and in doing so we learn what it means to be an Amazon. Among the sorrow, there is bravery, love and sisterhood. Among the betrayal, there is still hope.

This series is a masterpiece and Kelly Sue DeConnick’s writing is a force to be reckoned with. I love how each book has a different artist, and Nicola Scott created some elegant and iconic art in this third installment.

As I said in my previous reviews of Books 1 and 2, this story feels like something I’ve always wanted. Now I know it’s something I’ve always needed, too. The feminist and witchy vibes are incredible, the social commentary is on point, and the art is always breathtaking. This is one of the best comics I’ve ever read and I hope you check it out.
