It was fine. Not bad, not amazing. Good, not great.

This was a really quick 3 book series. Honestly, it could have easily been rolled into one book or maybe 2 if the writing improved. It was pretty drug out in some ways and other things really could have used more expanding upon. It wasn't a bad series but the plot twists were not plot twists at all because I had them pretty mich pegged from the beginning and also there were several times when characters infuriated me because in order to be lazy with the plot, the author made them conveniently not remember things that happened like 50 pages previously so that there could be a "big reveal" of the plan.

Lovely Ending

It was a great ending to their story.

At the same time it didn’t feel like an ending as there is so much still not answered. However as there are more books in the Shadow City World hopefully it will be answered then.

Annoying that the trilogy left so much open that now we have to read another trilogy to get the answers.

Side characters really came in strong in this one and I still enjoyed Sherlyn’s perspective on things but Griffon was really not doing anything for me and made the story pretty weak. There’s so much we still have to learn in this world and the romance was supposed to play such an important role but honestly it just felt so flat. I think I might continue with the next trilogy since the potential is there but still unsure.

Overall, I loved this trilogy and could not get enough of it. As soon as I finished one book, I had to immediately pick up the next one because I needed to know what would happen to these characters. I was invested! Overall, we do get a conclusion to all the chaos, but it was an open ending. That's because the other series will add to it. Instead of focusing on the same characters, we now focus on new ones, like the vampires in this world.
On the one hand, I cannot wait to see more of this world, but on the other side, I will miss Sterlyn. She might come in on later books since she's now like the head Luna. Still, she won't be the main character anymore, and I will miss her. I didn't pick up the next book because I wasn't ready to shift focus.
