I quite enjoyed Carmilla. Obviously, there was no wow factor, not like there would be if I had read it when it came out. However, I loved how beautifully written this book is, the femininity of the language and the sexual undertones. Their relationship is sensual and yet innocent. It's so unlike what we expect of vampires, in the way that they are associated with masculinity. Carmilla is even more feminine than our main character, Laura.

Overall it was a pleasant and quick read. I'd definitely recommend it.
