This book was dense and heavy. And every high school student should be required to read this. The writing was solid and the narration was done well.

What can I say? Wonderful and heartbreaking.  The characters and relationships between them are complex, which is rare for a book grounded in real history and tragedy.  Seminal.  A must read.
