This might be my favorite new way of reading regency romance. Beautiful design, lovely story, spicy and sweet. Truly a delight of a graphic novel.
5 VERY enthusiastic stars
Can't wait for the rest of them!!!

I read just Sarah W Searle’s comic in FRESH ROMANCE VOL. 1 and it was a lot shorter than I had expected. I enjoyed her previous (later?) Edwardian Romance centered around two house maids/mistresses. This story was different but way too short! I’m not sure if this is a storyline that was ever followed up on, but I loved the detail in the second half of Patience and Esther and I would have enjoyed that here, too. Hence, the rating. And because it’s so short, I’m not going to include it on my reading challenge.

This was exactly as I expected it to be and sadly that means it didn’t work for me. I’m already not a fan of historical fiction, but this narrative made me frustrated at the time period overall (rightfully so).
This is a personal preference of course, but it did have the structure of a great graphic novel.
The art and colouring was perfect for the time period, and I was never confused by any of the characters. In a short time I felt like we really learnt a lot about our main characters, but it still felt like the story was moving slowly.

Read as part of the Fresh Romance Vol. 1 Anthology.
