I don't know what I expected from this book. This book was recommended to me by my library's personalized reading program. The states that she does research for historical accuracies purposes and to be honest I did not feel that she actually researched the historical facts. Once I discovered that the author is catholic and used the Catholic church as her research some things made more sense. Example, in the story Joseph is said to have had a child from a previous marriage when the bible does not state that Joseph had a previous marriage, based upon my own bible reading I do not believe that Joseph had a previous marriage. The story says that James the brother of Jesus was Joseph's son from a previous marriage and that is not true. James is the brother of Jesus but James is the child of Joseph and Mary. I know that Catholics do not believe/accept that Mary ever had any kids other than Jesus so when it came to some historical facts I think that the author did away with the facts and inserted her own beliefs. I considered not finishing the books because of the historical inaccuracies but like I said it was a recommendation from my library's personalized reading program and therefore I thought I should finish it.
