I have to say this was a very good book but I didn’t love the love story of this couple as much because I felt like their relationship was kind of toxic and their communication was never great and it hardly developed however the cliff hanger at the end of this book was well worth the read and it was a great book to this series of books!

Back at the very beginning with Jackson and Catherine's story! I enjoyed this book and can sort of see the people they are in later series (just younger here). However, this made it clear to me that I am not here for duologies/duets. Ending on a cliff hanger, are you kidding?! So glad I'm reading these way after publication and the entire series is out because there are two more duets in this series.

Completed this as an audiobook and wow this was amazing. I was telling at Catherine and Jackson a little more than I’d like to admit but it was worth every second. This two showed each other what true love it and that they both deserve it.

DNF @ 58%. I have read so many positive reviews and I'm glad others enjoyed it but I couldn't connect with it. I didn't understand the immediate attraction, and I really didn't enjoy Catherine's weak self image.

I'm editing my review to add that I gave this one star because there are a few offensive comments regarding Iraq/Afghanistan (they are treated as interchangeable in this book). I do not believe the author intended to be offensive, but these were incredibly tactless and have not aged well at all (this book was originally written in 2014). I continued on with the series bc I was very curious about the plot, but I'd like to mention this here for anyone considering.

OKAY CORINNE - I SEE YOU. I was HOOKED on this book and could not put it down. Responsibilities? Don’t know them.

This is the first book in the Salvation Series and The Belonging Duet. The story follows Catherine, a girl who swears she’ll never love again after the way her dirtbag ex treated her, and Jackson, who promises to never experience love and loss again. After she (LITERALLY) falls into his lap, fate intervenes again by making him Catherine’s client.

The chemistry in this book was off the charts. I was in love with Jackson. The way he was utterly obsessed with Catherine was complete and total goals. That man really would’ve done anything to get her to date him.

Catherine’s character growth throughout the book was also incredible. I loved seeing her trust again and care for another man. Finding herself and realizing she could love again had me in my feels.

THE CLIFFY ON THIS BOOK HAD ME UNWELL. I immediately had to go into the next book because I needed to know what happened.

-Workplace Romance
-FMC Sworn Off Love
-Trust Issues
-Past Trauma
-MMC Ex Military
-Forced Proximity

2.5⭐ they both have so much baggage but they need to learn how to carry it better. It ends on a cliffhanger
