The story felt forced, the characters flat, the burp jokes were getting very old (not to mention that I wouldn't let my little brother touch this book for fear of him burping non-stop for weeks), and it didn't have the same sense of fun and quirkiness as [b:Floors|10284337|Floors (Floors, #1)|Patrick Carman|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1328838192s/10284337.jpg|15185747], despite both of them taking place at the wonderful and whimsical Whippet Hotel.

From where I stand, it appears to be one of those series that could have easily, and probably for the better, have stood alone.

This sequel to Floors is set a year after Leo has been made owner of the Whippet hotel. He and Remi, who is now his brother since Leo's dad married Remi's mom, have another zany adventure, this time to save the hotel by paying it's back taxes. Ms. Sparks is the evil villianess and the Yancy family is back. Leo and Remy discover many more of the hotel's incredible secrets in the sub basement. Monkeys, gears, Flart and Floogers and more abound in this fantastically fun fantasy!

For this book, my thoughts and feelings were basically the same as they were in the first book of this trilogy :)
