It took me a while to finish this book but that’s only because right now I’ve moved to countryside and my life it’s a little different. But, oh my God! Scarlett Bodine is one of a kind! I loved how badass she was, and how she was full of life in every circumstance. She was perfect for Devlin’s boring life. Devlin is a politician who thought he had the perfect life until he found his wife cheating on him. That was the moment he moved to South Virginia and met Scarlett. I loved their interactions and chemistry. I loved how Devlin was always on Scarlett’s side. And mostly I’m soooo fascinated about the mistery in this book that I’m going to finish all the books!
Overall I loved this book and the Bodine’s so it’s obvious that this is a book of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars.

Epic

I want to be Scarlett.
Out of the hundreds of books I’ve read, I must say: Scarlett Bodine is easily in my top 5 favorite characters, ever. She is a foul-mouthed, beer drinkin, rough around the edges heroine & I’ve wanted someone like her in my life forever. Seriously, I’d be her best friend.

This book (and series?) is a must-read for a few reasons.
#1 Scarlett. Her charm is unmistakably unique, and it was the perfect heroine to start this series.
#2 Bodine Loyalty. These siblings are hardcore allies to each other, and I love that.
#3 Bootleg Springs. I want to live here! Small town charm is my jam, and this town has SO much!
#4 June. I love this character. I can’t wait to see more of her and her superior intellect.
#5 Mystery. I won’t give any spoilers, but the mystery aspect was unexpected and most welcome.

Of course, the super steamy & well-written scenes were great, too, but I fell in love with this whole world in this book. The authors are favorites of mine, but this series has exceeded even my high initial expectations.

Super fun. Love the small town WV vibes (for an HEA anyway). Gotta decide if I’m gonna keep requesting ILLs for this series.

Great beginning to a series.
Scarlett and Devlin where such a great match.
I really loved Scarlett she is my favourite type of heroine, fun, capable, strong, witty, she really was fantastic.
Devlin was a fairly normal guy why came in to bootleg faily broken down, watching him heal with Scarlett was great.
I like the addition of the cold case that will (I assume) stretch out over the series.
Looking forward to the next book.

I wanted something light and this book was all I could ask for.

Scarlet and Devlin were pure dynamite, a small town girl and a politician? GIVE ME TWO TO TAKE, without a doubt this pair made me laugh and sigh.

All the interactions of the whole town is what I liked the most, come on, that's what I like about this trope, now all the mystery kept me awake and let's say that these two authors came together to leave me without patience when they tell us that until the last book we find out what is really happening.

Without a doubt, a book that I will read again soon, because come on, it is always good to find stories like this that fill you with joy.

Great story

Looking forward to reading more of the series. Two of my favorite authors - winner! Winner! The town is its own character and I just love small town love stories!
