Very eye opening but also disheartening to read as a woman who loves to write. I learnt a lot and I also have a lot of books to read thanks to the authors Russ mentioned throughout and at the end of the book. Although most of the authors mentioned throughout were white and Russ prefaces this at the start, I’m glad she includes black writers and other women of colour writers and includes footnotes for them. Many of them are writers that myself and the wider world are not familiar with as google searches of their names or books come up with little to nothing. This shows that the content discussed by Russ is unfortunately still relevant today.
