This story offers a mixed reading experience, oscillating between moments of engagement and detachment. For much of the story, I struggled to connect with the characters, but the intriguing final plot twist and the last few chapters drew me in, finally establishing a connection with the characters. I'm glad that the story went the way that it did because at one point it was hinting on something else and had the author taken that route then this book would have definitely been 1 star for me.

Though this book was no where near gory, I still liked the incorporation of slashers, and it's whole concept in the book. I also liked the subtle feminist themes that was sprinkled throughout the book, and the way the author inculcated ptsd and it's affects was commendable.

The way this book began and the way it ended was really strong and were my favourite parts of the book, and the middle just was lackluster or in other words not thrilling in my opinion. Overall, it's a decent read with moments of brilliance, but it falls short in maintaining engagement throughout.
