As with most anthologies, this one is a mixed bag. While there were a few stories that I didn't care for, the superstars of this book make it worth every penny. Of special note:

Twice, at Once, Separated by Linda D. Addison: This was a fantastic blending of traditional Yanomami beliefs and generational-ship scifi. It was intriguing with strong description that made me feel at moments as though I walked on the ship myself.

Malaika Descending by Sheree Renée Thomas: A paranormal short that recounted a girl’s visit to her difficult aunt in hell. It was both moving and humorous.

Belly Speaker by Nicole Kurtz: In this paranormal western, a young woman struggles to survive violent racists and the paranormal in the American Wild West. While the writing in this one wasn't quite as polished as the first two I mentioned, it drew me in more strongly than any other story in the book. My mind has gone back to it over and over again, and despite any minor issues, this one will be the standout story of the whole book to me.
