It just wasn't upto the usual Goosebumps standard. The ending ruined it all. It just ended up too unrealistically. The starting was amazing and had kept me interested from chapter one itself but then it went totally out of sync with those daydream chapters but then when the main Halloween

Goosebumps that takes place on Halloween is always the best! I really have a soft spot for this book because it always creeped me out! Even revisiting it as an adult gives me the shivers. Drew, Walker, Shane, and Shana are trying to get revenge for a mean prank Tabby and Lee pulled on them, but it seems like everything goes wrong! Shane and Shana are no shows, and then creepy Jack-o-lantern people start forcing them to Trick-or-Treat forever!

The scenes with the jack-o-lanterns are so creepy, especially when they force the kids to eat their candy until they get sick, and then make them keep trick-or-treating! But the ending?? Yikes, it was not great, which is why its only 3 stars. Definitely a disappointing Stephen King-esque ending.

I remember this episode of Goosebumps SO vividly. Memories from childhood and checking these books out at the library.

There is a reason adults shouldn't read or review these books. They are fairly awful. Repetitive to a fault. Not terribly original. I couldn't even determine if the character was male or female for a good portion of the book. My kid, who is pre-reading age, also wasn't very impressed. He chose charlottes web for our next book. I'm glad for that. I don't think I can handle much more of this style of writing.

Currently rereading my original Goosebumps collection

Started off very similar to The Haunted Mask and progressed into a re-hash of You Can't Scare Me. I enjoyed this book for the most part. It kept me intrigued and became fairly creepy towards the end. Unfortunately, the ending was a complete let down for me. It annoys me that Stine has ended quite a lot of his previous Goosebumps books in this fashion. It just feels abrupt and lazy. Also, there is a child abduction scenario in this book which is really strange.

Pure Nostalgia, Fun Exciting and Just Classic R.L. Stine Plot twist

Tho the kids were annoying, the story was fun and I will always feel happy when I revisit these books....
