Great read

I loved the mix in this story. You have the Latino arc and then there’s the mythological arc. I also really appreciate that there’s finally a character that’s half Mexican. Great read. I can’t wait for the next issue.

I want to like this more, but… it seems to hit every button I've got. I can tell it is good, but I can also tell it's not for me. From wading through ugly prejudice, a high-school setting with a kid adjusting to a new school alone, mean parent, then we add monsters. It is a testament to how good this is that, despite all that, I picked it up and finished this issue, but it's not something I'm going to continue to read. There are too many things that make me anxious to wade through: but it would be great, I suspect, for somebody without those issues to work through.
