Funny and clever! A simple story about a panda who is asking to share donuts. It's a great story to talk about being polite.

The strangest part of the story was when lemur came on the page. I would have preferred if it wasn't reversed on the page (he's coming up from the bottom w/ Mr. Panda upside down). It does not take away from the story, it's just strange.

Reviewed from a library copy.

Very simple, grey background and stark black and white animals (only the doughnuts are multicoloured), teaches please and thank you without being too irritating, easy to build crafts and other projects from. Not overly charming, it's not going to be a classic, but works fine and I'm happy to read it through a few times. Good for kids for who English is their second language.

This is a charming little book. The illustrations were my favorite part. I am looking forward to using it to teach my son manners. :)

The story starts out as a lesson in manners. But the story falls flat and doesn't reinforce the lesson. Instead of having the panda comment something along the lines of - since the lemur asked politely or used the word please, that is why he got the doughnuts. No, the panda just looks sad. Says "You can have them all." and follows up with "You're welcome. I do not like doughnuts." What?!? I love, love the illustrations! My child enjoyed looking at the contrasting black/white animals. But I really wish the storyline had a better ending.

When Mr. Panda asks the animals he comes across if they would like a doughnut, no one says the magic words, so he changes his mind. Will anyone remember? The text in this one kind of reminds me of “I Want My Hat Back” by Klassen.

Funny book, with really nice illustrations! Also, not too much text, which I really enjoyed!

extra points for the cute panda and the yummy looking donuts. minus points because really, are the other animals that rude? they answered his question and may have not said please, but it seems like overkill and manners teaching to me.

Mr. Panda gives a lesson in manners. This one is really all about the wonderful illustrations.
