A Lush Betrayal is just one example of the many reasons that Selena Laurence is at the top of my list of favorite authors and why I never ever miss reading a single book she writes. I say it every time but I have to say it again, she writes the most absolutely perfect romance books, and this rock star romance is absolute perfection!

Joss is the rock star lead that we all love in our romances. He is the reason that we turn to books like this. He is gorgeous, brooding, and he has a dark secret. The guilt that he has over this is killing him. It’s changing his relationship with his band mates, his friends. Each of those friends have their own demons they are carrying around. These are all beautifully woven in and around each other and it feels like their relationships are holding on by a thread.

In walks Mel. Mel is the perfect heroine, in my opinion. She is good, she is light, she is just an amazing person, and she is drawn to Joss, who is still brooding and letting his guilt eat away at him. Let the romance begin.

This isn’t just a story about their romance and whether or not they work things out together, this is the story of more than one betrayal, more than one hurt, a story about friendship and how fragile it can be. It is about the things we do to cope with our own hurt and anger and the repercussions of those actions.

I probably say this about every book by Selena, but I think this one is my favorite (until her next one releases). Every book is amazing, and each new book is even more than the one before. I cannot wait to read the next book, which I am hoping is Tammy and Walsh’s story.

Selena! Thank you so much for sending me an ARC of A Lush Betrayal. It was even more amazing than I thought it would be!

This was a chaotic melodramatic mess of a book. Characters didn't make sense, the resolution didn't make sense, it was a pretty hot mess. I have liked other stuff by this author, but this just didn't work for me at all.

This will be my first written review on GoodReads and if you had told me I'd give a free Amazon Kindle book 5 stars, I probably would have laughed at you, but this really was a great book. One that really called out to me to review and share. I don't read rock star books, I certainly don't read a ton of books with a lot of sexual scenes, but when a good one comes around, I can't walk away.

A Lush Betrayal centers around Mel, a photojournalism grad, and Joss, a rockstar. As well as the other major players in the story, Mel's sister Tammy, Tammy's fiance and Joss's bandmate Walsh, and the rest of the touring band and their crew. Betrayal, guilt, and a lot of emotion build up to the sharing of mistakes and the intense explosion that followed.

The book is written from Mel and Joss's POV, alternating chapters. Selena Laurence did an excellent job hooking you into Mel's background and making you so attached to Joss with his brooding and angst. The book is less about rock star life and more about the glue that holds a band together. Selena takes you on a tour bus ride of music, fear, sadness, loss, and finally closure. The characters are easy to relate to and understand and the story isn't so far fetched that you can't believe it.

I sat down and read this in one sitting, completely ignoring the rest of my plans for the evening. I highly recommend, as it was so much more than I was expecting.I particularly loved that Selena gave us closure to the chapter that is Mel and Joss, but leaves an open ending for Tammy and Walsh. Book two in the Lush series is already on my to-read shelf and I can't wait to see the story continue to develop.

“We’ll make a good pair, you and me. I can be in control, you can be flexible, and we’ll get along just fine.”

Love the story but the ending is too abrupt for me.

Joss Jamison is the lead singer of the band Lush and seemingly has it all. Yet 12 months ago he made a huge mistake which may end up costing him everything he has worked so hard for.

Mel DiLorenzo has been asked to photograph the band on their upcoming tour thanks to her sister Tammy who works for the band and is involved with Walsh, one of the band members. But as happy as Mel is for this opportunity she is also struggling with something that happened at school which may cost her an award she has worked hard for.

As Mel and Joss begin the tour together the two have so much chemistry but will secrets be exposed and cost them both everything?

This was such a great book and introduction to the band Lush! I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read more.

I thought Joss was a great character who made a huge mistake and now was struggling with the aftermath and guilt that he felt. I loved that he really recognized that he made a mistake but had no idea at all in how to deal with it and the consequences. I really liked him and found his feelings towards Mel sincere.

Mel was another great character who made a hige mistake with her academic life and knew how difficult things could be. She never told anyone what was going on until she eventually told Joss who told her that he would help her out. Mel was trying to make it on her own but loved that Tammy was able to get her such an amazing job opportunity.

I loved how Mel and Joss's relationship slowly evolved into more and both cared so much about each other but Joss definitely still had something hanging over his head.

When everything exploded I was surprised by where it came from but then it explained so much about what had happened and certain attitudes. I felt terrible for everyone involved as there wasn't any explanations given but just that everything was done. I was proud of Joss for his statement but I really felt bad for him.

I liked the closeness that developed again between Mel and Tammy and how much the two of them relied on each other to get through everything.

I was proud of Joss for how he slowly contacted Mel and how he began to go back to the beginning and do what made him happy again. It took something huge for him to find his passion again.

I was so happy when Mel showed up and the two realized how much they loved each other still!

The end was awesome and I really hope Tammy is able to find what she is looking for!
